 Kickboxing

This class is a blend of eastern and western philosophy. This is a non contact class and each instructor brings a unique teaching style to the program. Students will practice basic, practical kicking, punching, and self defense techniques in a group environment. The class will be broken down into different work stations concentrating on different striking and exercise drills (ex: bag work, focus mitt work, jump rope, etc.). This class provides a great cardio workout for all students.

This class offers many benefits when it comes to fitness. Kickboxing is great for fat loss and toning. The process of kicking and punching provide the best overall workout because it uses the most muscle groups. Kicking works the lower body, while punching works the shoulders, arms and back. The abs are used throughout the whole class stabilizing the body during kicks and punches as well as individual ab exercises. This class also helps increase flexibility from the continuous kicking and stretching. Flexibility is important because it helps increase blood flow and circulation. Each class provides a certain amount of variety because each instructor brings his or her own instruction to the class. Self confidence is also increased through repeated classes by allowing one to learn techniques required for defending oneself. Overall, this class provides a great workout while allowing a person to become educated and trained in proper kicking and punching techniques.
